About Us

Healthy Home has expertise on lead poisoning and new "safe lead practices" regulations and guidance from EPA, HUD, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Frustrated with the lack of resources, education, and tools to empower parents to easily protect their children from toxic lead exposure, Healthy Home has focused intensely on working to make a difference over the past 10 years.  Working with leading scientists and researchers in lead poisoning, we have advised and helped 100s of families and professionals learn straight-forward, low-cost ways to maintain a lead safe home, school, garden, or workplace.

Too many people remain unaware of lead hazards in the home, or if they are aware, become so confused and scared of the issue that they are not sure what to do.  Often people assume that the only option for correcting potential lead hazards is expensive lead abatement work, and are not aware of new recommendations, regulations, and health guidance that empower parents and everyday home renovation contractors to follow simple, low-cost (and "no cost") steps to maintaining a lead safe home.  We have observed firsthand that a modest amount of instruction and advise made huge differences to families in understanding how simple and affordable it can be to find and eliminate common lead hazards before they result in dangerous exposure that leads to chronic lead poisoning.  This non-fatal lead poisoning is a potential danger for anyone in a pre-1978 home, school, or other building, but is often an invisible disease, with people showing not obvious signs of poisoning at first.

Healthy Home provides home consultations to help you understand how simple it can be to maintain a lead safe environment for you and your loved ones.
